Who we are
D.A.V. Senior Secondary School stands opposite the Mahila Ashram Complex in Karnal. It is run by the Dayanand Anglovedic Education Society, Karnal, whose registered office is at the D.A.V. P.G. College, Karnal.
The school holds permanent recognition from the Directorate of School Education, Haryana for Classes 1 to 12 in Arts, Commerce and Science, and follows the syllabus of the Board of School Education Haryana, Bhiwani. This session, 303 students study with us from Class VI to Class XII.
Like every D.A.V. institution, we believe education should build character as carefully as it builds knowledge.

From a movement founded in 1886 to a school serving Karnal today.
1886
The D.A.V. movement begins
Inspired by the teachings of Swami Dayanand Saraswati, the first Dayanand Anglo-Vedic school opens in Lahore, joining Vedic values with modern learning.
1949
A society for Karnal
The Dayanand Anglovedic Education Society is registered with the State Registrar, bringing the D.A.V. mission to Karnal.
1970
Recognition granted
On 12 April 1970, D.A.V. Senior Secondary School, Karnal receives permanent recognition from the Education Department of Haryana.
2015
Society re-registered
The managing society is re-registered under the Haryana Registration & Regulation of Societies Act, 2012.
2026
Recognition reviewed
The Directorate of School Education, Haryana reviews and continues the school's permanent recognition for Classes 1 to 12 in Arts, Commerce and Science.

Principal's message

A school is measured by the young people it sends into the world. At D.A.V. Karnal we want every boy who walks through our gate to leave with a sound education, a steady character and the confidence to serve the society that raised him.
Our teachers know their students by name. They push for good results, but they also watch for honesty, discipline and kindness, because those are the lessons that stay long after the board examinations are over.
